Free Golf Swing is built so your swing stays on your device. This page explains what happens when you use the analyser at freegolfswing.com or freegolfswing.co.uk.

Camera and microphone

The analyser asks for camera access so it can record a short swing clip in your browser. Microphone access is optional and only used to help detect impact from the sound of the strike. You can deny the microphone and still analyse a swing. We do not receive a live stream of your camera.

Where videos are stored

Recordings are processed in the browser. Swing history (up to 20 swings, including video when the browser allows it) is saved in IndexedDB on this device. It is not uploaded to our servers. Clearing site data in your browser, or tapping Clear in the history panel, deletes it.

Pose analysis

Body tracking uses Google MediaPipe Pose, which runs locally in your browser after the model files are downloaded from Google’s public model host. Landmark coordinates do not leave your device as part of the scoring.

AI coaching tips

If you analyse a swing, the app may send numbers only (score, shoulder turn, hip turn, tempo, head sway, camera view) to Pollinations.ai to generate a short coaching sentence. No video is attached. If that request fails, a local rule-based tip is shown instead.

Accounts, cookies and ads

There is no sign-up, no account database, and no advertising network. We do not set tracking cookies. GitHub Pages (the host) may record standard server logs such as IP address and browser type. We do not run a separate analytics product on this site.

Children

The tool is intended for golfers who can consent to camera use on their own device. Do not publish clips of children without the appropriate permission.
